Andrew Steger - Purdy Performance
Coach Andy Steger has been a varsity coach for over 20 years and coached soccer trips to Europe 5 different times. His first varsity jobs were coaching in Del Rio, TX where he was the varsity coach for both the boys and girls program, leading the boys team to their first ever District Championship. Coach Steger then spent 9 years coaching the varsity boys and girls teams at Green Bay Preble, helping lead the teams to the state tournament 6 times, 4 with the boys and 2 with the girls and twice being named the Press Gazette All-Area Coach of the Year.
In 2003 he became the varsity boys and girls coach in Burlington, WI where he spent 5 years before getting the job as the Head Coach for the St. Norbert College Men’s team from 2008-2011. In 2012 he took over as the Coaching Director for the Green Bay Lightning Soccer Club and then in the spring of 2013 became the varsity coach for the De Pere High School Girls team. He has made 1 state appearance with the De Pere girls and has been to the Sectional Championship game in the last 3 years while helping the Lady Redbirds win conference all 3 years.
Along with coaching varsity soccer teams, Coach Steger has coached numerous club teams for both Green Bay Lightning and De Pere Select. He holds his USSF National “D” License along with being trained in CPR and AED for the past 8 years. Coach Steger is an Alumni of Hartland Arrowhead High School, UW - Green Bay, and UW-Oshkosh. When he’s not coaching, he enjoys spending time with his family and watching his 4 children play soccer.
Nick Browne - Notre Dame Academy
Coach Nick Browne has been involved in soccer for over 30 years both as a player and a coach. His playing experience includes club, high school, and overseas tournaments (Europe). In addition to coaching at NDA, Nick has coached club for multiple levels. Although Nick has been part of several big games including 14 Sectional Finals, 9 State Appearances, 5 State Championships, the most rewarding part of coaching to him is the journey to get there.
A fun fact about Nick is that he won a Penalty Kick Competition while at a tournament in Amsterdam against a professional keeper.
Nick has been coaching at Notre Dame Academy since the Spring of 2008. When Nick is not on the sidelines of NDA, you will find him spending time with his family, and cheering on his beloved Badgers and Packers.
Bob Rickards - St. Norbert College
Bob Rickards led the Notre Dame girls to a WIAA Division 3 state championship in 2018 and the boys to a pair of WIAA Division 2 state titles in 2007 and 2008. The Tritons also finished as the Division 3 boys state runner-up in 2013 and the Division 3 girls state runner-up in 2011 and 2015.
Rickards has compiled a 245-89-38 record with the girls and a 225-106-42 mark with the boys in 15 years at Notre Dame. The totals include six girls' conference championships and three boys' conference titles. He has been named conference coach of the year a total of six times (five girls, one boys) and was named Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association Division 3 Girls' Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
Bob Rickards finished his fifth season coaching St. Norbert College women's soccer in the fall of 2024. The Green Knights finished 6-10-4. in 2021, their first in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. St. Norbert also qualified for the NACC Tournament. St. Norbert narrowly missed out on a Midwest Conference Tournament berth in 2019, despite an impressive 5-0-1 finish to the season. The Green Knights also posted solid nonconference wins over the Milwaukee School of Engineering and UW-Oshkosh.
Rickards, a 1995 graduate of the College of Charleston, is an active board member of the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association and also spent two years on the WIAA Soccer Rules Committee.
He currently holds a NSCAA regional and high school diploma and a USSF "D" license. Bob was a licensed official who was certified in USSF, WIAA and NISOA until 2006. When he is not playing, coaching or officiating soccer, Bob can be found spending time with his family.
